Hello Folks,

I have a 2005 Outback 3.O R and the drivers seat
has a broken part. (not sure of part name unfortunately)
but its on the underside of left portion of seat.
the motor and all other functionality are all good
its just there is some minor movement and
the left side sags slightly lower

the first image shows where the bottom part sheared off from
the arm mechanism below it

was wondering if anyone has been able to fix this on their own
or had to replace the part.

any help would be appreciated.

get the net,

Only 4 bolts hold the seat to the floor. Remove them, and then tilt the seat towards the center of the car and reach under and disconnect the two or three wiring harness connectors to the seat belts and power seat motors. If the seat has an air bag, there will be a yellow connector that a red lock piece that must be removed first, before disconnecting the yellow connector.

Its wise to disconnect the battery before dealing with any wiring!

Once the seat is out of the car, you'll see the damaged parts, that may be able to be welded and repaired. If not, it may be way cheaper to see a wrecking yard for another seat assembly than see the dealership for parts. Good Luck!
