Awesome, they just got back to me with a code that made shipping $0. I ordered the 2nd row sunshades as well as an oil filter and gasket. Both items were way cheaper on that site than I can get at the dealer. I paid something like $14 for the oil filter/gasket, and it was something like $6 online. Nice.

Ok, I just did my Dome and Cargo lights this evening.

Here is the 2020XT post for the parts from Amazon, good prices.

It was easy - the only catch is that the original Dome light was HOT so DO NOT grab it with your finger immediately...other than that, read the manual to see where to insert the flat head screw driver.

Jus to help the others with the upgrade, here is the picture of the dome light and the cover and you can get an idea of the where the notches are (so you don't break them):

Were you pleased with the increase in illumination? And thanks for the post on the tab locations.
You're welcome, it all helps & thanks for your post to stir it all up.

I checked out the lights just now when its totally dark since I installed it prior to sun down. It is brighter but somehow I was thinking it will be brighter. However, it is a defnite improvement over the oem Onyx bulbs. Definitely worth the money and not paying the extra $45 for the "LED dome light upgrade" 👍

i'm very pleased with the auxito dome light. i put it in both my outback and forester and even in my dark garage, it puts out a ton of light. i can see things clearly and dont feel like i need to back into the driveway or pull out my phone flashlight to look for things.

ordered the cargo light too. the philips 194 bulb is disappointing. feels just as dim as the original, light, except it's white, so hoping this auxito improves. it arrives today

The reason why I chose the Auxito wasn't for maximum light output, but for longevity. Don't know if it makes a real world difference but their 194 has the LED's mounted on aluminum for heat dissipation.

It's also the best selling bulb in the category in a crowded field, from LED light specialists that don't seem to be selling identical items under different brands.

Having said that, when people use these bulbs in always-on applications like marker lights, they are more prone to failure. Inexpensive LED bulbs work best for intermittent use like cargo lights, dome lights, puddle lights.

While I have used Pro Clip for some time, I'm going a different route. I dont care for thier mount for the 2020OB and the suction cup mount I used in my 2013 sometimes dropped the phone, which I dont want to happen in this car.
Im trying out a small magnetic mount, sticking it to the dash area.
I like to have the phone up and mounted somewhere, rather than finding a place to set it (difficult in this 2020 anyway). So this is what I chose. I wanted something subtle but strong. I know there are a few brands making similar products. I randomly ran across this in my travels and decided to try it. I tried to take the photo from my eye perspective, so you see that the phone doesnt sit too high. I dont know if it will stick for the long haul at that angle. I am not keeping the magnetic mount on when I leave the car to minimize needless weight pulling at the adhesive. We'll see how the adhesive on the flat plate does through the hot summer. I do like the location though for this placement - not in the way of any vent or anything, and right in my forward view so I'm not looking down and to the right to deal with/look at it.
Car play is ok and Ill use it, but I find it too limiting in some ways - like the music app for starters.

I got this. It wouldn't stick to the dash like yours did. Guess it is too cold here.

Also didn't like the placement of the Proclip I got. So then I was thinking. Let me move the Proclip and attach the Mobnetic to that! This seems to be the best of both worlds for me. Phone is literally next to my hand on the shifter. It is also far enough from the display it doesn't interfere with my wife's access to her seat controls. I am really liking this setup right now. A little on the pricey side but it works.

@aspexin19 you can move the proclip up closer to the dash from where it is right now. one thing i noticed is that the angle of the mount, even with the tilt base, doesn't quite point far enough to look directly at me. so for face ID i need to move my head a bit. not a dealbreaker though, and I'm glad to have my phone in a conspicuous place so i stop forgetting to grab it when i leave the car

Interesting and well done. Yeah - so far mine is sticking, but I have a feeling some time may change that. One side of the disk has come up a bit but the rest of it so far is holding. There was a blip in the instruction about if it wont stick but I didnt understand what it was referring to as a solution. If mine stops sticking, I will look further into it. But I like the extension you made with it.

Was it hard to take off the cargo dome cover? I hate to try to pry it off and crack the plastic cover.

The cargo light cover is a piece of cake. The central dome light is more tricky - I almost pried the entire housing out of the headliner by mistake.
opposite for me. in fact, I did take the cargo light housing out, and then had to remove the cover. it all fit back together though

It was very easy to remove the cargo light cover. Hardest part was to get my fingers in the housing to grip the old bulb. I had to lie on my back in the rear and look up to the roof to position myself properly.

Using a plastic prying tool like this will help prevent scratches on the trim pieces, rather than a metal flat head screw driver.

This is nice crafty work. I can’t bring myself to mount a phone in the interior, though, because it aesthetically looks bad to me and I like the interior of the OB. The industrial look of your solution would bug the aesthetic part of my brain too much :D

Thank you @Squirrel! for your post that got me started on a TuxMat upgrade!

I got my shipment today and did the install, which was incredibly easy, owing to the fact that these are laser-precise fitting mats. They have just the right amount of flexibility for the easy install, and rigidity to hug corners and vertical surfaces. The materials and construction are higher quality than anything I've ever seen in interior mats. The outer layer is a PVC to give the mats their waterproof characteristic, then a middle layer of EVA, with the same cushioning feel of EVA midsoles in running shoes. The underside of the mats are a nice quality fabric which effectively "grabs" the Outback's flooring.

Even though TuxMat provides retention clips and Velcro-backed tabs, I only used two of the clips for the tunnel sidewall on the driver side and I used their floor anchor system on the driver side too. When I saw the abundance of clips included with the packaging I was concerned that my car wash facility wouldn't be able to get them out or that I would have to restrict them from pulling them. But, the TuxMats nestle in and anchor themselves so well on their own that I don't have that concern now.

The fit is remarkable and the quality is outstanding. Initially I didn't think I would want a TuxMat for the cargo area but after seeing the build quality I went ahead and ordered that today as well.
