Very nice! Hahaha, the Wrangler owner took the time to take off the side fenders...but left the OEM highway tires...and then get high centered!

The only thing that i would do differently in your case is pull the stuck vehicle with your rear hook...going forward is always better than going backwards when pulling someone. And yeah, tell the guy who is standing next to the tow rope to stand FARTHER away!! Even tho your rope seems like one without metal hooks, it is always nice to stand far away...just in case.

mbsoutha, is your OB a 3.6 or 2.5?? If it is a 2.5, then WOOHOOO, your reverse gear ain't too bad, is it?!!! :D Nice!

sorry..but that rock did all the work. the initial jolt from the suburu was it's job. w/out some sort of leverage it was going nowhere.

LOL, nice!

All the Wrangler really needed was a jack. Lift up the front, put the rock under the wheel, and back off. Or lift it up and push it backwards off the jack if brave...

Anyway, nice recovery!

It's a 4 cylinder with a CVT... The reverse gear is evidently OK in that one.

it is a 2.5 cvt. i didnt think about putting it in drive vs reverse.

at first i tried just backing up from a stop, when he threw in the rock thats when i used more of a jerk method. the mud through there was so slippery you didnt really have steering.

i have no problem backing up very steep hills during my monthly inspection for meth labs or other illegal activity on land that is not at all maintained. i was even nervous about this after reading so many bad reviews. i wonder if the people who say stuff like that ever drive their car
