umm, bumper-to-bumper is 3 year/36,000 miles. He MIGHT find his dealer will cover it on goodwill, but he's 2,000 miles beyond the warranty unless he has an extended warranty.

Wheel bearings are covered under the "Transaxle and Differential" section of the Powertrain warranty. So he has a ways to go until he hits the 60,000 miles of the Powertrain warranty. If the seals did break, then it is covered. Subaru would also be liable for having to tow it.
