Has anyone replaced the plugs from the bottom? I have a lift and it seems like pulling the wheels/tires and plastic wheelhouses the job might be easier , any suggestions?

Since you are in the Gen 5 forum, i am assuming...
I recently did a Gen 4 2.5 from the fender wells, it was quite easy. The right front was more accessible from above with part of the air box inlet removed.

Your correct, sorry about that, I have two 2017 outback’s, a 3.6 and a 2.5
