I just purchased a subaru OEM steel wheel and plan on using it to have a real spare for my Outback. (I bought the car used and it did not have a mini spare or jack etc0. Does anyone see a problem with this? I am hoping it will fit in the spare location. I have read where some say it a regular tire and rim won't fit and other say it will

Replying to my own original thread..Purchased a Subaru steel wheel (17 inch) my car has 17 inch wheels on it and put a used tire off a Honda size 225/55-17 and it fits in the space. Had to throw away the bottom foam part but can still use the top tool tray. Honda wheel on rim compared to Factory temp spare

Spare wheel height 26.8 vs subaru steel wheel and tire 26.7
Width 6.1 8.9
Rev mile 754 754
