Hello all. My wife and I recently purchased a 2001 VDC Outback Wagon. It seems like a great car for us, but the steering feel leaves a little something to be desired.

The steering is responsive, but seems to have more "feedback" then it should. For instance, the other day we were traveling down a reasonably smooth gravel road ~15mph. Every small bump in the road would jerk the steering wheel left and right.

The original rack had a torn boot and had some slop in it and I replaced it with a re-manufactured unit. Inner and outer tie rods are new. While stopped, there doesn't seem to be any remaining slop in the steering (turning the wheel without the wheels moving).

Any thoughts??
