I have just bought a 2014 Outback (Diesel), and when turning the steering to between 2 and 3 o'clock to the right it becomes very loose. It feels a little like it would when turning on gravel or snow if that makes sense?

I did a search but can't see anyone else mentioning a similar problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Please and thank you.

hmmmmm, dunno if related, but in the US, we had a steering-related recall in our 2015-16 models I think?

I would suggest the usually. Possible air in the system. If there is a pocket of air, it may reveal itself at certain loads or positions.

Another possibility may be steering rack bushings...But i think that s a reach.
