Live in rural area on dirt road in CO that is often an array of washboard an potholes
Need to replace my struts and curious what people recommended for this?
Not looking for top of the line, but need something that will last a while too
Thoughts?
if you want a touch firmer: buy them spec'd for 2013-14 outbacks.
check if KYB has listings, as of recently KYB did not list anything for outbacks 2010-newer, so you had to go to the dealer to buy struts $$
I replaced mine with KYB this summer. They're available from rockauto, no problem. But I found the smart move was to replace the springs, pads, caps, and mounts as well. I used KYB mounts and dust boots, but the rest is only available from Subaru. I also live on a rough dirt road, these things take a beating.
I've got a set of Excel-G w/15k available. If you've got stock springs, they should be fine. I replaced them with Bilstein as they were not up to the task of damping my Rallitek springs.
