I recently had an opportunity to view a Subaru (the blue not the black) filter that had been cut in half. I couldn’t believe what I saw!

Pics or ban.
I looked at a few past posts by Dark and they do not appear Troll(ish).
Maybe the OP is keeping us in the dark for some reason.
My guess is this is another blue oil filter thread ala:

If so, you will kindly find the search feature at the top of the site for several other threads on the issue.

Thank you

My post was an expression of my thoughts when I saw the filter cut in half. Since I am not an oil filter expert I had no intention of going into positive or negative territory with my post. Some of the replies were from inconsiderate folks that are quick to judgement with no facts to support their one or two word quips.
To be fair...you didn't actually say anything that could be interpreted positively or negatively.

"Hey, look at that!"
this is the strangest thread Ive seen on this board so far since joining.

:lurk:

Your post was so general that it contributes nothing to a discussion. If you don't want to get snarky comments, maybe you should have elaborated on what your saw inside. Or posted a picture at least. What is completely empty? Was it a piece of cardboard? We don't know because you only provided an emotional reaction to something that has nothing to do with how you feel about it.

People make WAY too big a deal about oil filters and oil. Just change them regularly and you'll be ahead of the general public. Subaru sticks the blue filters on 300hp sti engines and some people with non-turbo cars obsess over filter media, metal end caps, oil analysis, and probably trade their car in before 100k.

I see what you did there...

What kind of replies did you expect to receive with such a useless opening post?

What did you see that was so unbelievable? Was there bacon in the filter? Maybe a unicorn turd? Or was it filled with 1,000 tears from an Indonesian sweat shop full of child laborers...

Also, if you know nothing about oil filters what is there to even be shocked about?

+1, except that I would say something other than "strangest".
Is it not possible to simply make a statement on this forum or must one post something that requires answers? If it is necessary to post only thoughts that require answers, then which answers are correct and which are incorrect?
^ Forums are generally for providing information or requesting information...your thread/post did neither..

..and is therefore worthless.

And as a form of entertainment. What is not important to you others may find value in.

If you read my post you will find I said I'm not a oil filter expert, not that I know nothing about filters
