Help me please
First it is the right taillight inside the hatch
when I hit the brake it lights dimly
when the head lights are on the light is on, I hit the brakes the light goes out
I replaced the bulb same thing

I bought my daughter a 2001 about a month ago drove it about a week and liked it so much I traded in my Landcruiser and bought me a 2004 a couple of weeks ago
On hers I had to change most the taillight bulbs is this a common issue ?
thanks for any help

Check your grounding straps this is a common cause with the older cars - it will cause lots of odd power issues for the electrics.

Compare the bulb to the one on the other side, to make sure it's the same.

Broken wires where they pass from the roof line to the hatch - broken over time due to the flexing and bending as the hatch opens and closes is also known for causing shorts and issues with the electrics in the hatch its self. It would be worth taking a close look to see if you can spot damaged wires at the hatch vs roof junction where the wires pass to the hatch.

I wanted to mention that, but since the problem seems to be with the tail/stop lights, I thought both of them would have been affected. A good time to check the harness, in any case.
