I came from VW's and was on VWVortex back in the heyday. Just sold my MK1 Diesel Jetta looking for something a little more practical. So after doing plenty of research originally looking for a Forester, I found an Outback with the H6 and under 100k miles. Unfortunately it came with a noisy power steering pump that I didnt notice on the test drive. I signed up and scoured this forum to find out that I could rest easy, the pump probably wasn't the problem. After an O-ring try ($2!) and an OEM suction hose ($70-ish) the PS is quiet and free from air.
After lifting the car to change over to some Crosstrek wheels that I sourced for cheap locally (after finding pictures of users that had already done it here to make sure it looked good) I noticed the lower control arm bushing torn and got pretty bummed until I searched it here and it seems like its a common problem that Subaru says really isn't a problem. I'll keep on trucking until I notice driveability symptoms.
Anyways, thanks for being helpful.
