We might be some of the only ones on this forum with that mindset
I've had a very high opinion of the guy since I learned who he was and the filibuster only raised my opinion even more.
I've often thought I should do something to eliminate the assumption that my Outback is driven by a liberal democrat, like maybe a "Who is John Galt?" license plate frame (if frames were legal in this state anyway).
Anyway, back on topic...
So. Your post has officially dragged me out of lurker-dom. I couldn't resist. Been lurking about 8 months here, bought a Subaru 2 months ago, but didn't really plan on joining....until just now.
Set up an account....THEN, I got up off my couch at 3 minutes past midnight, went OUTSIDE in the 14 degree South Dakota night with my cell phone and a flashlight, wearing only pajamas and flip-flops...JUST so I could take a picture of my newly acquired motor vehicle and one of its recent sticker adornments, and post it on this forum.
Clearly, you are inside my friggin' brain or something, because "not wanting my fellow South Dakotans to mistake me for a progressive/liberal/democrat based on the car I drive...
eeeeven if a Subaru stereotype doesn't really exist here because there are so few on the road that they're almost a novelty"....was my EXACT thought & a large part of my motivation for putting this sticker on my window.
That, and it was actually a gift from my roommate who is kind of a zealous obsessive fanboy for all things Rand, Beck and Wilcow...I *like* the same & think along similar lines, I am a registered libertarian gun toting freedom advocating independent stubborn woman....but have never QUITE been the type to latch on to another person's words/philosophy with rabid, cult-like adoration the way my roommate tends to.
But, free stickers are free stickers, I was appreciative of the gift, I do actually like the book very much....and it worked for the "theme" I was aiming for with the other stickers on my Outback....so all's good.
Oh, yah by the way....HI EVERYBODY *waves*....nice to meetya, being as this is my first post here figured I'd be polite and say hello. Name's Danielle, I drive a 2008 Outback 2.5i. I have four dogs, a husband and a messy roommate and a whole lot of freakish little Satan birds who generate income and try to eat people's souls. Pleasure to be here.
Maybe I'll even come back and post once in a while, now that I know for sure there are some folks here whom I'd have more in common with than just our really good taste in cars
