I have Yokohama Geolander G015s (225/65/R17) on my 14 Outback, and the back right tire has a irreparable puncture. They have 6700 street miles on them and 1/32" of wear. Would I be fine just buying a new one and installing it without shaving? I think the tolerance for Subaru AWD is 2/32" so 1/32" would be within that.

the measurement that Subaru uses is circumference difference, not tread depth, so the circumferences need measured. tread depth is somewhat arbitrary for a few reasons.

that being said I'd install the new tire up front, air up the rears a couple PSi and rotate the other three until the "new" one wears down to match the rest if the fronts wear faster which they can. i've done that plenty of times.
