So I just joined the subaru world, and i bought a 2017 Outback touring. It came with the thule cross bars but now I am looking for a roof rack to transport two bikes. I have a saris one that used to clip on the back of my old car, but I want to be able to take the dogs with me and you can't open the hatch with the bikes on. any insight? Am I stuck buying the Thule one at $400?

A lot of the bike mounts that fit "aero bars" (Thule, Yakima, Inno, etc.,) should fit the Aeroblades that the Tourings use, which (I think) are stock Thule ARB47s. e.g., etrailer.com lists the Yak frontloader and forklift as fits, and companies that are mainly mount produces (e.g., Kuat), try hard to make compatible hardware. rackattack.com also notes that a most of the newer racks fit a lot of oval/aero bars.

Look into Rocky Mounts trays as well.
