We are looking to purchase a 2013 Subaru Outback. Trying to get feedback on if it is capable of towing a small trailer. We are looking to purchase a 4 cyl. which "they" say can haul up to 2700 pounds but we don't know how the torque is on this vehicle. We would be using it for hauling mulch, stone, etc.

We are trading in a car and a Ford Ranger pickup that towed all of our yard material needs.

If anyone has any feedback, we would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ruthie

Get the 3.6. More power/torque and you won't have to worry about getting up that hill.

If I remember correctly, 2 cu yards of mulch is about a ton. No worries there. I assume that you won't be going much further than across town with it.
