I have a 2001 OB 4-cylinder in excellent condition. I'm wondering if this car can tow a 2500- 3000 pound sports car IF it's on a good trailer with electric brakes? I'm betting not, particularly in hilly country, but I'd be delighted to find out that I'm wrong! Thanks.

2500lbs. is the 4 cyl. capacity. 3000lbs is the H6 capacity. Even on a good trailer its not worth the gas money to tow that much. I had a Forester 4 cyl. and even towing a 500 pound hobie cat killed the gas mileage.

2500-3000 plus a trailer equals an amount that greatly exceeds the rated limits from Subaru.
