Hey all,
This is my first post, but i have had this place bookmarked a while now and been using it for reference.

I have an 04 Outback Wagon with the 2.5L 4 cylinder and automatic transmission.

Whenever i am driving on the highway or up hills and have to give it more throttle, the trans will downshift fine, but when it goes to change up again, if the RPM's are too high it will get stuck between gears and the engine revs up to nearly redline. The engine revving up is do to my foot still being on the throttle. The only way it goes back in to gear is if i let off the gas and let the RPM's drop back to idle speed and it will go back in and be fine, until i pass someone else or if it get higher in the RPM's.

Get Down. :dance2:

That out of the way, first thing is to check your fluid level an make sure it is full. Then move from there.

When was the last flush?

i did a fluid change yesterday. Afterwards it shifted smoother but was still not up shifting correctly. It usually happens at about 4,000 to 5,00 rpm and tries to shift.

It happens between 2nd and 3rd and between 3rd and 4th/OD. I never noticed between 1st and 2nd because i never need to get on it that hard so soon.
