So i have a 98 outback that lost its tranny. 4eat.
I have a 4 eat to put in it but am unsure what it came out of. it might have been an 04 legacy.
the number on the 98 4eat is TZ1A2ZJEBA
the tranny number on the replacement is TZ1A3ZC4AA
does anyone know the difference, what the final drive ratio's are and if there are any other problems i would need to correct to fit this tranny in.
I heard there was a change with the duty solenoid or something that would cause a problem and the drive ratios might be different.
Ive looked for any way to id them but cant find anything.

No way that will work (I believe). Your 98 has a phase 1 4EAT and you are trying to swap in a Phase 2 4EAT. Also the 04 has the reversed duty solenoid so they will only work with 04+.
