Hi,

On http://opposedforces.com/ they list two oil pans for different years, one is an alternative to the other so it appears to be interchangeable.

31390AA080
alternate: 31390AA081

However there is also a picture:

This says NEW->OLD but NOT OLD->NEW

Anyone knows the story behind? The magnet would be different for sure but I took the OLD not for NEW means the whole package, i.e. old pan/magnet cannot be used onb new transmission. Is this a recall or design flaw in the old version?

Thanks!

I believe it comes down to the stamping and overall design of the pan. The bolt patterns are the same, but I believe the 081 pan is for the redesigned valve body (as originally designed for the 01-04 applications).

I believe the magnet location and bump-outs for the old pan won't clear the new valve body.

Thank you RoughDiamond.

I was not aware of the valve body change. I know they changed transfer valve.

So would you say the valve body change is physical not electrical? Because I want to do the swap between 2000 and 2004.
