Hey all,

I have a gen 2, 2004 cali spec outback, 2.5L

When i hit my indicator to turn left, and turn left only, sometimes it gives the very quick tick tick tick, like a bulb is out. you know, the noise that is supposed to tell you to check your bulbs. but, it only happens sometimes. if and when it does, it will take one, two or 3 more tries hitting it on and off before it signals correctly. When it signals correct, all the bulbs work. when it doesn't, none work. this makes me think it has something to do with the level. but has any one else had this issue / know of a fix. buy a new level, wire loose????

thanks

There have been other instances of similar symptoms that were traced to bad/dirty contacts in the turn signal switch. There's at least one thread here that has some details on how to access the switch and clean/refurbish the contacts. It's a relatively simple task if you're able.

See:

Let us know if this helps and what you do.

well i scanned them both quickly. found the written tutorial about taking it all apart and cleaning a lot of the grease off. i did all this, but it didn't change much. it looks to me like the left hand turning "dome" electrical piece is a bit worn down and might need a tiny solder or something to build it back up. i dont have a soldering iron or any skills with one, so maybe i'll find a friend to help
