Price sounds way high! - Subaru dealer charged me $1500 but subaru ended up picking up the tab. If the car has not been over heated and is in good shape otherwise - its worth it. Mine was done at 65K and was perfectly fine at 180,000 when I sold it.I have a 2002 Outback 2.5L 4cyl.
Just took it in for inspection and they said the head gasket is leaking. No way!!
It's got 145K miles on it.
Is it worth it to replace it?
I have to replace timing belt as well. All said and done about $2100.
Only concern is if I pay all that to get that done and then the transmission goes out. With that many miles you never know.
Time for a new car?
Thoughts?
