this is an excellent thread and the lessons apply to every make and model as well. My wife worked for a dealership for years in the service dept. (not as a mechanic) but her take was there were mechanics and there were parts changers. Quality mechanics are to be respected. The problem is in some environments the shop or dealership will push unneeded or unwanted service to make a buck.
