I can't figure out how to update my post. Will add link to original post:

Why my Subaru is getting a new engine.

Blown head gasket, car steaming and boiling antifreeze/coolant every time it rolled a few blocks.

A couple stopped when they saw me putting a jug of water in my radiator on that cold evening in Marathon, TX. The guy said my block was going to crack that night, and it did. He tried to find antifreeze, but there was none.

Moral of story: if you drive a Subaru, add coolant/antifreeze to emergency car kit. Remember it can be cold in the desert in southwest TX

After a tow to Buddy's in Alpine and another tow to Midland Subara (and time looking at possible new cat), parts ars orde4ed. Work should begin Monday.

I'll be heading to Midland iSubaru n a week or so to retrieve my car
