Hello folks,

New to the forum, hello!

Recently purchased a 2011 Subaru OB Limited from a local Subaru Dealership with ~81k miles on it. Everything seems to be in grate shape but I was wondering if anybody had any input for the extended warranty they offered me. Costs $1,750 to cover everything except regular maintenance for another 48k miles.

I have been reading through multiple forums for peoples experiences with 100k+ miles on Gen 4 Outbacks and found multiple accounts of issues with the torque converter and CVT transmission at relatively low mileage, among some other minor issues.

Are these problems common at <130,000k miles? And do you think it may be worth considering the warranty?

Thanks!

Be very careful . I am pro extended warrantees but in your case it might not be best. I first would want to know who are you buying it from? This is very unlikely NOT a Subaru owned or backed ,but most likely a third party. You need to read up on who they are and read all they have positive and negative reviews. You will find some fight you on every repair. I think close to 5 out of 10 have gone bankrupt over that past 15 years.and you lose all your money. Be smart do a lot of home work . Spend a day educating yourself and I'm sure you will make the right decision for you . Doug

Highly agree, I have only purchased extended warranties when it comes from the manufacturer.
