I have a 2000 Outback and a 2001 Legacy Sedan and after a heavy rain or car wash when I open the trunk lid or hatch water pours out of the tail light access holes. Is there some sort of drain that may be clogged? I live out in the county and have plenty of pine and douglas fir trees in my yard. I am always cleaning needles out of my vehicles.

I know on the Outback the big rear lens has a seal across the top which starts to fail and lets moisture in. I removed mine and cleaned the groove above the failed seal, then ran a bead of silicone all the way across. I did NOT run silicone all the way around, as the 'brow' is enough to force the water to run around to the ends and drain normally.

Thanks. I figured I would have to take it apart anyway. I already have a tube of silicone but I am to hungover to fix it today. Maybe next weekend :D
