For 07 OB, 2.5i SOHC, non turbo

FSM says remove cam sprocket and tensioner bracket before removing WP. Have watched several videos and none show this requirement. Does tensioner bracket have to be removed to access WP bolts? Thanks.

I was able to get mine off without taking off the driver side cam sprocket or Tensioner Bracket. See Image. I don't know why they say to take the bracket off.
A tech who does this job routinely just answered on NASIOC. He said it gave better access and, it is very easy to cross thread bolts if you leave the bracket on.

The bracket and sprocket do not need to come off.

Caution is needed so the dust seals between the water pump and rear timing belt cover do not slip or buckle, but there is enough room.

Wait to install the bypass hose(s) onto the nipple(s) until after the bolts are tightened.
