WeatherTech Floor Liner Color

Looking for some input. I wonder if it makes sense to go with the grey color WeatherTech floor liner rather than a black in my Black interior. Wisconsin winter coming and may show less salt. Does anyone use the gray color in a black interior? How does it look?

Thanks

I have a black interior on my 2011 OB and I have the black all weather floor mats that I ordered from Subaru when I ordered the car. I'm very happy with the black. I personally think the grey might stand out too much but I really don't know since I don't have them. I know nothing about winters and salt here in Miami.
For a black interior, I'd go with the black liners. Mine were great through a Nebraska winter with heavier-than-average snow. Salt spots wash off easily; if you go with grey liners you're stuck with the grey full-time.

WeatherTech is definitely the way to go, though, at least for the front. Liners > mats anyday, especially where it snows.

+1 - I've got the black liners in the black interior, and they seem to blend right in with color scheme.
Are WeatherTech mats better than the all weather mats from Subaru? I'm wondering if I should replace the two front Subaru mats with the WeatherTech. Any thoughts?

The WeatherTechs give you better coverage and will better contain liquids and spills by nature of their design with the raised outer edges.

My OB came with the OEM all weather mats, and I replaced them with the WT's within the first week.
As insomniac said, much better retention of melted snow with the WeatherTech liners than with the Subaru a/w mats—like the difference between a plate and a bowl...at least up front. Definitely worth the investment there. The difference is much less pronounced in the back, so I did exactly what you're proposing to do: replaced just the front mats. Much less traffic in the back seat, anyway.
Thanks for the input. I went ahead and ordered the black. Sure, may show more salt, but the light grey seems to standout too much and may show more dirt during the non winter months.
black for sure! i have the taupe interior but the carpets are black so i used black

I have black ones - bought 'em 5 weeks ago. I finally get to install them tomorrow. I went with both front and back. I have an 8 year old so I thought it would be good investment ;)

Man, i wished i got these instead of the all weather mats from Subaru. I like the thick sturdiness subaru mats but I hate how there's gap's expose for possible accidents. Does anybody feel that WeatherTech mats are too thin? Probably not, I'm guessing? I have a kid too so this is going to be interesting. Let's hope this holds up for me.

Not the least bit. I've had them in '08 Civic for nearly three years, and even longer in vehicles before that, and they held up just fine. Their shape and floor coverage is far superior to the OEM all weather mats.

Where did you find back ones for the 2011? Or did you order the 2010 ones?

Just order the 2010 mats.
That's what I did, and they fit very precisely in my 2011 OB.
Trust me--Subaru did not decide to start stamping out different floor pans after one year of production of the new model.
Where did you guys end up getting them from? Direct from Weathertech? They seem a bit expensive.

Yeah, they are expensive, but they're worth it if you want to keep your carpets looking like new. Got mine from WeatherTech Floor Liners, Weather Tech Floorliners
You can get the Weathertech liners from Amazon for about five bucks less than through Wethertech and get FREE shipping (another $20 savings). Amazon didn't carry them when I bought mine, but I just ordered a set for a family member for Christmas. Great price.

On the Amazon site do a search for "WeatherTech 442591" - that's the part number for the fronts in black. You can get the part number for the full set from the Weathertech site and search on that too.

Im thinking about the same color combo as your OB. Does the dark interior get too hot? Im also in FL where its 100 in the summer (in the shade).
