Hi,

I am puzzled on what a ball inside 4EAT bellhousing does. Please see picture.

Mine is rusty but if it has no use, I may skip cleaning it.

That is really interesting. Do you know why it is designed this way? Why not just make the passage not all the way through? You said "drilled", so that means it is drilled after the case is molded?

I wonder how they fit the ball there. What if it gets loose?

I guess I don't need to worry about the rust then.

Most passages in cases are drilled. When the best access is from the outside they will be plugged this way or with a threaded plug.

The ball is pressed into the case.
