Forgive me for being such a neophyte here. I just don't even know how to describe the part where I have an issue.

Anyway here is a picture of the part that broke:

I accidentally stepped on it. It broke the last "clip" that are attached on the inside. I have the broken clip but it looks like the only way to reattach it is to glue it on. Is that the best way to fix it? How much would it cost to replace it?

Thank you in advance.

Typically its just a clip that needs replacing. You might need to pull the broken clip out of the body panel / rocker panel cover. If the rocker panel cover broke where the clip attaches to it then you might need to order a new one. They are pretty cheap. Not a big deal.

Subaru calls it a Side Sill Garnish.

Typically, it needs to be completely removed in order to replace the clips. It does take a specialty clip. One with seals on it.

I need to buy some of those right now. $9 each seems a bit much though at the links you got there. (edit: whoops, 25 aftermarkets for 9.43)

(quirk says the same # fits 2001-2007)

Thank you for all the help and the vocabulary lesson.

The issue isn't that the clip broke, it's the thing inside the garnish that attaches to the clip that broke. In that case, can I just glue it back on and then reattach it to the clip? Or do I have to purchase a new garnish? (If I do need to purchase a new one, I think I need part number 91112AJ26B one as it is on the driver's side aka left.)

Let me know if I'm tracking correctly.

Thanks.

I've never had any luck with gluing attachment points back on. They almost always fail again.

The first link I posted above was for the pic, mainly. It shows the seals very well.

The second link is to clips and fasteners site. 25 clips for $9.43

$.37 each.

Thanks @Zedhead.

Can anyone confirm that this is the garnish that I need for the driver's side: 91112AJ26B?

Thanks, again, for all the guidance.
