I recently got a screaming deal on a 1997 Legacy outback. While I was searching for a legacy GT wagon, I could Just not pass up the outback. Now what I am wondering is, What makes an outback an outback? I want to lower my car, But I am not sure if it can be done with just a set of springs, or does the car also have longer strut bodies. If so, Can I swap some in from a normal legacy wagon? Will doing this cause problems because of axle length?

Any Help would be appreceiated

I'm not too sure what the technical suspension differences are between the two but I have seen lowereed outbacks so it can be done. Welcome the the site.
