My wife picked up a set of 2016 WRX 18x8.5 Premium wheels and now it's time to buy tires. 1) What tire are you using? 2) Do your tires have the rim protector built in? (Raised rib adjacent to the bead to protect wheel from curb) 3) Can you post a picture of your wheel and tire combo and also...
245/60-18 will usually rub.
If you have the 4 cylinder I would recommend sticking with 225/60-18 because bigger tires will decrease torque and acceleration - an all terrain tire like the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail has square shoulders and even in the stock size looks meaty. Also consider the weight of your tire choices. Heavier tires will likewise decrease performance.
If you must go bigger then 235/60-18 is a safe and common choice, but a bigger tire will mean your spare tire will be mismatched in diameter even more than before.
