I am not an engine oil expert; I do follow manufactures recommendations though. Perhaps someone with a petroleum back round can answer.
I have wondered why Subaru’s new synthetic oil does not contain the API starburst label. Does it not meet API standards for engine lubrication and fuel efficiency or perhaps is there a fee involved to use the logo that Subaru does not wish to pay?

ntippet,

Were bottles produced without the logo? Your picture is the first time I have seen it.

Any of the new bottle shipments coming in have the API logo.
I am uncertain if any of the old bottles had it or not.

What does the printed sticker look like on your bottles?
