What kit did you use, and are you happy with the results? I am looking for a turbo kit for my '04 outback with a 2.5L automatic. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have experience with these: SUBARU LEGACY OUTBACK 1998-2004 1999 SINGLE TURBO KIT : eBay Motors (item 180497885046 end time May-22-10 12:24:57 PDT)

Any good?

Interesting, never seen that kit before. Seems like a universal deal that they sell for a whole bunch of different cars. Definitely not for beginners, you will need some custom work and piggyback engine management. Not a weekend project.

Most people who go turbo just do a full WRX swap. That way you have stronger internals and can run more boost than the 6-7psi you can get away with on the stock block.

I have been checking out supercharger and wrx swaps, but that is not for me. I don't plan on racing this thing, I just want a little extra umph for the mountains here. I gotta say, I am very dissapointed with the performance out of the '04 subaru. We had a '99 2.5L manual and that thing never lacked power. I realize an auto is going to be a little less powerfull but come on subaru, what were you thinking? As far as the kit I posted, It won't be hard for me to install it, I just wanted to know if it was going to last, or worth doing it?
