Will Legacy springs work for my outback?

I want lowering springs, but I can't find them for my '04 outback sedan. Could I use some from a legacy? If so, what modifications will be necessary?

Yes, but match them with the struts.

Doing just a strut swap, mine lowered 1.75". If you swap the springs, I think it would give you another .5" at least. Understand the spring rate will be different and the car will handle different with the shorter/lighter springs. Make sure your wheel offset will clear the inner fender. With the basic strut swap, the factory offset will not rub the fender.
