I can't be the only one that loves this mod- it's already come in handy.

I know I saw this around, could you repost the original thread on how to do this? I've been thinking about it lately and think I might tackle it today.

thanks plain_OM

Essentially you just have to lift the resistor or cut the track.

My pics are from my US 2003 outback.

Getting the switch out and the cover off was pretty easy.

The link someone sent me that spurred me to do it:

http://offroadingsubarus.com/spraythenwipe.html

note the pic there is a little different, but it's still one of the resistors labeled "183", the one nearest the connector that goes to the wires that go up the stalk.

It is the actual wiper switch that screws to the steering column, it's all one piece.

You remove the screws that hold the black cover that goes above and below the steering column, then the switch is pretty obvious, you remove the switch and then the cover off the switch and then you are staring at the circuit board.

Might have to try this...there's one section of the windshield that never gets clean because the wiper goes across before fluid can get there.

Just want to plug this mod, it's a windshield-saver in the winter!
