Is anyone running the 225/60/17 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S on their 2010 Outback? If so, how are they?

This photo isn't the best but these are stock size Geolander A/T along with a Primitive Offroad 1/2 inch coil spring spacer lift.

Outside, I must say I absolutely L-O-V-E the look of your OB. Thanks for posting that picture. Did the lift change the ride quality at all? Any more sway/wandering etc? Also, what roof box and mount is that? We are new to the forum and love it and all it offers.

Thanks

Creso, those look great imo and much more suited to the OB than the stock Continentals. Are you happy with them regarding their behavior and noise? Thanks.

The Yokohama Geolanders are simply amazing, and Im glad I switched them out at 650mi - Discount Tire gave me $250 trade-in on the stockers.

The Geolanders dramatically reduce the body roll feeling of the stock Contis (soft sidewalls), and provide a noticeably more responsive ride at 35psi and have a much stiffer sidewall.

The road noise is slightly greater than the stock Contis, but it doesnt bother me one bit. Check out the Survey/Reviews on Tirerack.com.

I feel much more confident cornering at speed, off-roading, and in deep snow conditions.

I highly recommend the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S for the 2010+ Outback. :29: There are very few A/T options in the stock 225/60/17 sizing - do yourself a favor and just go buy 'em!

I completely agree, this tire should have been standard in North America - it's ideal for the OB.

Count me in. I just had these put on after swapping out the Conti's with 27k miles. Hit a nail to close to sidewall and figured it was a good time to replace them. Seems to be an awesome tire. I do a lot of driving and hope it will wear better than the Conti's.

I have an 11 and an 09 would you all know if it is possible to buy these for the 11 and have the conti tires then mounted on the 09
Does your '09 come with 17" wheels? If not, you would have to get a 17 wheel that fits....

Did you add the spacer to stiffen the ride for better steering and handling? I suspect that the soft progressive spring rate on the OB contributes to the my wandering problem. Did you add the spacer to the front and rear? Where did you buy the spacers?

Thanks for your response

Just to add to shortbed's questions (as I'm also considering the spacers which I assume you got from Primitive?) -- Is there a reason you went with the 1/2 inch spacers instead of the 3/4 inch spacers?
Allow me to explain my current situation using barely comprehensible internet meme-speak:

Geolander AT/S in 225/70/16 are on the way now.

Some of yokohamo tires are made in Thailand and China. Where are the Geolanders 225/60R/17 AT/S made?
The Tire Rack lists Japan as the country of origin for that size AT/S.

Japan will work: thanks

New tires are on. I was in the dirt within 5 minutes and 1/2 mile from the tire shop. Whee!
What PSI is everyone running with the Yokohama Geolanders?
Is there a drop in mpg's with this tire that has been noticed by anyone?
Testing in shallow mud:

they are a little better than the stock ones. But the tread fills up fast. Not bad at ask for a tire that seems to have no problem on the road.

I'll keep an eye on my mileage. I expect lower mileage with the slightly wider tire.
