Drove ten minutes for quick errand.
Got a series of ‘severe alert’ warnings (see attached image). I had to press OK through multiple screens. A few minutes later, the series reappears. Then appeared again.
Highly distracting.
I searched gen 6 forum with no results. How do I turn this off?

2020 OB PREMIUM. No navigation. Apple iPhone with blue tooth connected.
thanks for the assist.

Are the alerts possibly coming in via the SiriusXM traffic and weather subscription? Even after the initial free trial of SiriusXM radio expires (after 4 months), you still have a traffic and weather subscription, independent of whether you start paying for a radio subscription. I forget now if it is for three years, or something less than that.

Yep. And the alert types can be configured to display or not display.

Just ran another quick errand. First started the car and had seven warnings that I subsequently cleared. Within 60 seconds had six warnings that I cleared. another 60 seconds passed and got five warnings to clear. Sixty seconds later yet another five warnings cleared. Then they stopped for the last three minutes of my drive. They seize up the radio so no other screen activity is allowed when these ‘alerts’ are present. Extremely annoying and distract.

Go to your home screen and look for the APPS icon. Open it and touch the SXM Travel Link app to open that. Page over to the right at the top were it says "Fuel Prices" "Sports" "Stocks" until you see "Weather Alerts". Once you open Weather Alerts you'll see three choices to select what location you want to get alerts from, Current Location, Select Location and Add Favorite. At the bottom left you will see Settings. Open settings and check to see if Alert Notifications is turned off by touching the sector button. That should do it.

Will need to look into this fix. I have a 21 Onyx, & these alerts were causing a big issue the other day. I'm a Realtor & my job sometimes puts me in remote locations....hence the Outback. This time I was heading to find a remote piece of land. The road became steep, narrowing & washed out with deep ruts at the top. The car started to spin....probably on 2 wheels....so I tried to access X mode, but the weather alerts blocked access & the alerts wouldn't go away. Finally was able to access X mode by putting it in reverse. Had I not found this work around, I would have been stuck as the car wouldn't crawl forward until I got it into the level 2 deep snow X mode. The alerts are useless, as they don't give any indication of direction. A live radar would be much more useful. It also goes to show, as nice as the big screen looks, physical buttons would be better for more critical items.
