Hello Everyone,
I recently picked up an '10 Outback Limited 2.5i with a CVT transmission, and have absolutely loved it for the hundred-something miles I have driven so far. The previous owner clearly cherished it, and everything runs and works like new—a true testiment to the enduring nature of our vehicles!
As far as I know, the 2010 model Outback is not equipped with the little rotatable dial next to the center console with the selectable "[S#]" modes. However, as I was parking my car recently, I noticed something funny. The car was off, doors closed, and the little info screen located next to the tach and speedometer was totally blank (though illuminated). I then noticed that if I look from an angle, I can clearly see the "[S#]" modes on the screen. Although nothing was being indicated on the screen, I could still see the various things that could be illuminated. A bit like looking at a digital watch from an odd angle. I will attach a photo to explain what I mean.
Did Subaru just use the same screen for all vehicles? Is that why the "[S#]" modes are there, even though I have no way to select any of them?
Thanks!
Glad to be a new member of the 'baru community.
