If the engine has a timing belt then it is an EJ series engine.
If it is a 2.5 litre EJ25 engine (the 2.0 litre engines are EJ20) then it is susceptible to head gasket failure.
I believe the FB25 engine was released in late 2012 and so far this engine type has not been reported to have issues with failing head gaskets. The FB25 engine has a timing chain which only needs replacing when the engine is overhauled (expected to be around 300,000 to 450,000 miles)
