Please help - I have a 2012 Outback with ~177,000 miles on it (many adventures up and down the east coast). Yesterday morning I randomly got the check engine flashing lights including A/T Temp In light flashing. Code reader gave codes P0700 and P2762. Took it to my usual local mechanic who said that it may be the transmission going bad. Subaru dealership said it might be the valve body. Either way I'm looking at a lot of money for a well-aged car. Has anyone else experienced these codes, and if so, what was the fix?
Thanks for any advice/guidance/etc.

My OB has a little over 200k on it and developed this same problem. I'm somewhat "handy" with a wrench, so watched a video on troubleshooting the solenoid on the valve body and found the torque convertor lock up selinoid was bad. Replaced it along with new fluid and it off and working fine. Didn't buy the entire valve body, just the solenoid. Have your mechanic watch the repair videos on this problem. For about $200 I've got it working fine again.
