2015 ABS/VDC/EPB / SAS... ETC! Failures. Progress?

I have an Australian 2015OB (2.5?) that was popping the usual codes including U0073 CAN bus A off, took it to the Subaru dealer here and they wanted more than the price of the car ($8500+) to replace the VDC/abs unit to MAYBE fix the problem. I passed on that.
Then took it to them as the horn wasn't working and they wanted $1600 to replace the roll connector, also passed on that.

I tried reflowing the usual suspect joints within the ABS unit to no success but after I replaced the roll connector and cleared codes with ActiveOBD and my obdlink MX+ I now only have code C2548 under power steering listed as Active, all the others are historic.

This seems like good progress?

Now the C2548 seems to be maybe the zero point of the steering angle sensor needs resetting (I just removed the old one and placed it in the new unit.. I wasn't really sure how to do so with regard to alignments, the new part had a lock in place so it was kept straight and the old SAS seems to just click onto the back with no adjustments available so I'm not sure what I could've screwed up?) or, according to Subarus pdf "VDC system failure".

I have been reading all morning (2-6am, I have 3 kids so that's the only time I can research these days) about SSM, BtSsm romraider, freessm, torque pro + Active OBD TQ to the point where I've lost track of what I was even trying to do in the first place.

I THINK I need to maybe reflash the ECU rom with BtSsm but I believe I need another adapter to first flash OpenECU or something?

I don't know, I'm lost.. I am questioning the wisdom of trying to fix this myself but feel like I'm too far down the rabbit hole to back out now.

Any suggestions or help would be immensely appreciated when I wake up.. in 30 minutes :/

If anyone checks this thread I now have U0073, U0126, C2543 and C2548.
Which is two communications errors, one with the SAS, and two power steering errors.

Is there a diagram showing all ground points? I've checked all the ones I could find but that wasn't many.

27549AL00A - is this the right SAS part for an Australian 2015 ob ? I can only find one from the US for a couple hundred bucks.

I was reading that previously there was an error where although the SAS worked ok the error code could not be cleared. I can't find any reference to that online aside from some random comments in a YouTube video but the guy says he reprogrammed the IC on the SAS board. I am capable of programming IC's, if I have a starting point.. otherwise, if I replace the SAS I assume I'll have to set the zero point immediately to avoid it throwing another code, perhaps permanently?

Resetting the zero point via the stereo doesn't work on mine, it won't go into service menus.

Anyway, I'll probably try ordering a used SAS and if that doesn't work I'll just have to give up, everything has gone wrong this year and I just don't have the time to work on this anymore.
