You need an engine tune and someone to tune the CVT if you go this route. The CVT can be manipulated, at least they can in the CVT Forester XT and WRX.

I'm not running into anybody or any post about fitment issues but expect some modification of sorts when you install one.

Not sure about the 2-hour thing because to do any kind of boost properly you have to have the right size fuel injectors to supply the fuel.

As far as intercoolers go, look at WTA intercoolers from places like Frozen Boost. I use a type 13 on my 2001 H6 and it's attached straight onto the throttle body with the coolant hoses running around to the front of the car where the small radiator, fan and pump reside. My intake air temperatures under boost tend to stay under 30° over ambient.

I am getting somewhere around 450 horsepower off the crankshaft. I calculated this using 306 at the wheels and about a 30 to 35% loss through the automatic transmission with the torque converter unlocked.
