Anyone replace their CV axle?

I also recommend you use anti-seize compound on all the threads going back together....
Remember to adjust torque -25 to 30%. Antiseize.com and engineersedge.com both state 25%; a post on BITOG mentions 30%.


I also recommend you use anti-seize compound on all the threads....Even the lug nuts.
Anti-seize on lugs nuts is generally considered a very bad idea. On Subaru, over torquing lug nuts will put too much force on the wheel bearing and cause it to fail prematurely [edited after posts 14 & 15, below; this should have said: ...over-torquing can cause rotor problems.] But, it's your car, do as you please.

Thanks for catching that. Brain cells crossed and it should have been... uneven forces, [edit to add: or too much force,] can cause rotor probs.
