Can someone provide advice about the parts that I will need to repair my side mirror?

Will it be necessary to replace the entire mirror? This is a 2021 Outback.

From what I can see, the broken housing shell and missing mirror glass are the two parts you’ll need to replace for now. That said, make sure to test the adjustment motor and any electrical components like heating or signals to confirm they’re still working. If they are, replacing those two parts will fix it. If they’re not, you’ll likely need the entire mirror assembly.

The glass is easy to replace and you can get separately. However, I do not think they sell the broken parts of the housing separate and I think you'd need to buy a whole new mirror. If you have a junkyard nearby it might be worth checking with them to see if they have one you can pull

Did you fix your mirror? Yes, How? Replace the whole mirror or just housing and glass? How much did it cost you? I just crack the inner part of the housing-black shell.

Yes I fixed it. DrD above gave good advice about the parts that were needed. I bought the glass online and got the rear top plastic piece from a Subaru dealer and installed both myself. They just click in so didn’t need to pay the dealer to do it.
(Just realized I mistakenly changed my user name. I’m lauraNYS)

In my limited experience, if just the rear plastic housing is broken and needs to be replaced, the new one can be snapped in. However, you might have a different broken piece than I had, or a different mirror type.

Yes, I replaced the mirror/glass piece myself, while the whole unit was still attached to the door. The whole unit was not removed.

Good luck - I'll be curious to hear how it goes.
