I am getting another car painted and Dark Mahogany Pearl is one of the final color choices.

I think I saw it on a car in the parking lot on a cloudy day band it looked really brown. I don't want a brown car. I am looking for dark burgundy metallic color that looks clearly burgundy during the day but gets darker, almost black at night. I have seen this color on other cars and thought it fit the bill until I saw this one today.

The paint code listed is XAU and I see it named Dark Mahogany Brown pearl when I search for it. Is that the correct paint code?

Those that have this color, are you happy with it and does it look brown in certain light or burgundy just different shades depending on the light?

Dont have one but when we were deciding on a car earlier this year, we saw that color in the Subaru brochure and in studio lighting it looked like what you say you want. BUT, we drove two hours to see one in real life and let's just say we left feeling 'meh' about it. In studio lighting it looks like a deep burgundy, but in outside lighting it looks like a very unpleasant brown color. No bueno. We were almost ready to special order one until we saw it in real life. It's brown, and if you know mahogany wood, it's brown with some red/orange in it, and that's basically what this is. For some reason, they allowed the brochure to really, IMO, misrepresent this color. That said, what I'd have loved was exactly what you are hoping for: a deep, rich, elegant burgundy wine color, coupled with tan leather interior. That? Would be one beautiful car!

Just saw the local one that color in the parking lot, I took a close look but couldn't see the brown. If it is, it's a very dark brown. It's an overcast day. Not sure if that matters. I have seen that car before, but there don't seem to be many of them around. I live in an area where Subaru's are every where.
