Had anyone tried disabling the ABS system? I just want to check before I go pulling fuses.

More fun in the dirt and snow. It's speculated that ABS can result in worse braking performance in loose surfaces, since it prevents the wheels from "digging in" and letting material pile up in front of the rolling surface. I was hoping to try it for myself.

I'm still intent on finding a solution to this....

I followed the Gen 5 recommendation here, it appears to also work* on Gen 6:

This is the fuse you want to pull:

From: 2024 G6 Subaru Outback fuse box diagram - StartMyCar

Procedure
  1. Start Car in Park
  2. With car started, pop hood and pull this fuse
  3. If you get back into the car at this point, you'll see Traction Control and Stability Control throwing errors on your dash. The ABS light DOES NOT light up. You also won't be able to shift out of Park.
  4. Get back out and put the fuse back in the slot
  5. The errors will stay, Traction and Stability will be disabled still, but you'll be able to shift out of Park
  6. The errors stay until you restart the car
This doesn't appear to disable ABS without disabling Traction and Stability, but I suppose that could be useful to someone who wants to do that.
