Fuel economy

I own 2006 2.5L Outback with manual gearbox. The combined fuel consumption is exactly as stated in technical specifications - 8.9 litres per 100 km. This is calculated (real) consuption, ie make calculations based on km driven and fuel purchased each time I visit fuel station. By the way - on board computer gives always -0.3 L/110km mistake.

Normally I drive 500-650 km until orange 'fill the tank' light goes on. I think the driving style makes difference. If you don't rush on red traffic lights and use braking with engine then -1 L/100km can be easily saved compared to your normal driving style.
