Hello, I bought an Android similar to the one OP posted, for my Outback 2017 with Harman Kardon, the company is called Navirs.

I splurged a little buying the one with more memory, and almost everything works: The subwoofer, android auto, a/c seems to works... even the 360 cameras and dash cam! (I need to calibrate the 360 camera though). The only thing I can't get to work are the steering wheel controls.

I opened the factory settings with the password 8888. Selected the Canbus adapter: Simple -> Subaru -> Outback 15-17. I also tested with the first option, Subaru. I can't find anything about the Type 1 or Type 2 adapter on the factory settings. I have an app called "Car settings" but the settings are empty.

I can supposedly calibrate the buttons on Settings -> General -> Learn keys... but this makes the buttons to repeat the same actions, for example, if I configure Volume Up on one key, the Volume Down will also make the volume up.

Any insights on what else I can try? Seems like the language barrier doesn't let the seller solve this problem.

Edit 9/2/25: Solved! "Original" car settings were missing on my unit, so the seller sent me a .diff file that updated my unit over a USB Drive. After that I selected Type 2 and worked as expected. I needed to talk to them via Whatsapp, I'm surprised they actually solved the problem that way!
