Lane Departure Off warning light

My car doesn't beep when it can't the lines. It only beeps when I cross a lane. That kind of beep you're hearing is supposed to happen when using lane centering, not lane departure. I don't use lane centering.
I have my Lane Departure Warning set to "Warning Buzzer Only" and it does not beep when losing sight of the lines, just like SilverOnyx's car. It only beeps when I cross a line intentionally.

I think it only beeps when it loses sight of the lines if you have it set to auto correct the steering wheel. Then it's letting you know you better have control yourself because it can't see.

Or maybe it's because I'm still on 504 software and a 2.5 Limited, who knows.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize I already said essentially the same thing above.

If you have lane departure set to "warn only" It will not beep when the lines disappear. It will only beep when you cross a visible line. It will not do any steering correction in this setting, but it will warn you to correct it yourself. You just don't get the "lose of lane" beeping when lines aren't visible. This is the setting that I prefer when not on a freeway.
